Abstract

The invention discloses a switching method and device. According to the embodiment of the invention, the method comprises the steps that a DU determines that switching between CUs needs to be carried out, and then an F1 interface establishing request is sent to a target CU, wherein the F1 interface establishing request indicates that the establishment reason is that the DU carries out switching between the CUs; after the target CU receives the F1 interface establishing request sent by the DU, the target CU returns an F1 interface establishing response to the DU; the DU receives an F1 interface establishment response returned by the target CU, and then sends a message used for indicating the DU to perform inter-CU switching to the source CU; and the DU is switched from the source CU to the target CU. According to the method, the DU can be switched from the source CU to the target CU, so under a CU-DU separated network architecture, when the source CU cannot provide network service for the DU, the DU is switched to the target CU capable of providing network service for the DU, and then the communication quality of the UE served by the DU can be improved.
