Meanwhile, the object selection method and system are capable of displaying thumbnails of all objects in overlapped object groups to bring convenience for the user to make selections after the user chooses overlapped object groups. The object selection method and system have following beneficial effects: the user can indirectly select corresponding objects by selecting thumbnails so that the user does not need to select objects by dragging; rapid selections of objects can be made so that precision and speed of object selections are improved; the user feels comfortable with the object selection method and system; and meanwhile, the object selection method and system do not cause changes of all object positions so that display effect of all objects is ensured.
