A method, system, server architecture and/or tangible medium upgrade and award admittance of events to an event customer, preferably via a data communication network. The method includes, for example, receiving a communication from the event customer, the communication including a request to obtain admittance to at least one event, the communication also including an identifier associated with the event customer, admitting the event customer at the point of sale system after verification of the request, and updating a database indicating that the request was processed. The method also includes determining first predetermined criteria associated with the event indicative of at least one other event customer not attending the event, releasing an allocation associated with the at least one other event customer, and notifying at least another of the event customers to perform the upgrade and/or reallocation.

A system and method for interfacing TCP Offload Engines (TOE) into an operating system to improve system performance and reduce CPU utilization. The system and method places an interposed filter before the generic user space socket library near the top of the TCP stack to intercept at the earliest possible layer a user application network socket request. The interposed filter determines whether an I/O request is targeted for a generic network adapter or a full TOE network adapter. For I/O requests that are targeted to a full TOE network adapter, the request is formatted to meet the requirements of the full TOE driver and sent directly to that driver, bypassing the operating system's generic user space socket library and socket driver in kernel space. This system and method takes full advantage of the capabilities offered by TOE hardware.

A method for providing a notification and/or an electronic device thereof are provided. The electronic device may include an output device, a communication circuitry, and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive a first notification from a first external electronic device via the communication circuitry, receive a second notification from a second external electronic device via the communication circuitry, determine whether the first notification and the second notification match, and when the first notification and the second notification match each other, output an output signal corresponding to a selected notification among the first notification and the second notification through the output device and/or an external output device operatively coupled to the electronic device, and disregard a non-selected notification among the first notification and the second notification.

The subject matter herein generally relates to transcoding content, typically audio/video files though not limited to such, from one version to another in preparation for online streaming or other delivery to end users. Such transcoding may involve converting from one format to another (e.g., changing codecs or container formats), or creating multiple versions of an original source file in different bitrates, frame-sizes, or otherwise, to support distribution to a wide array of devices and to utilize performance-enhancing technologies like adaptive bitrate streaming. A transcoding platform is described herein that, in certain embodiments, leverages distributed computing techniques to transcode content in parallel across a platform of machines that are preferably idle or low-utilization resources of a content delivery network. The transcoding system also utilizes, in certain embodiments, improved techniques for segmenting the original source file so as to enable different segments to be sent to different machines for parallel transcodes.

The optimized multi-hit caching utilizes a modified bloom filter implementation that performs flushing and state rolling to delete indices representing stale content from a bit array used to track hit counts without affecting identification of other content that may be represented with indices overlapping with those representing the stale content. Specifically, a copy of the bit array is stored prior to flushing the bit array so as to avoid losing track of previously requested and cached content when flushing the bit arrays and the flushing is performed to remove the bit indices representing stale content from the bit array and to minimize the possibility of a false positive.

An apparatus is provided for creating a gateway between a wired telephone and a wireless telephone network. The gateway device is connected to a wired home telephone network having one or more wired telephones, a wired telephone network, such as the PSTN, and a wireless telephone network. The apparatus may operate in a first mode that allows the wired telephone network to be utilized as a primary telephone network for the wired home telephone network and the wireless telephone network to be utilized as a backup in case of failure of the wired telephone network. A radio communication apparatus includes a receiving section, a power supply section and a control section. The receiving section receives a radio signal when electric power is supplied, and the radio signal has a preamble field for storing a preamble pattern. MOS scores are computed to indicate performance with a variety of available codec's. Empty test packets used simply to probe network quality are not used. Instead, SNMP messages that carry valuable information or commands for other purposes are gleaned of timing information so the MOS quality scores can be calculated in background.

The invention discloses a cloud data security sharing method based on a block chain. The method has the advantages that the data sharing safety and the data sharing efficiency are improved in an untrusted environment, and the compliance of entity behaviors is supervised.
