An improvement is provided in a bed having a side rail framework, and at least one dual-position rail assembly which is secured on one side of the bed. The improvement includes a rotatable structure upon which the dual-position rail assembly, is mounted in order to enable the dual-position rail assembly to move between two positively-stopped and automatically locked positions. A first of such positively-stopped and automatically locked positions disposes the dual-position rail assembly in an assist, vertically-oriented, position which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bed. A second of such positively-stopped and automatically locked positions disposes the dual-position rail assembly in a guard, horizontally-oriented, position which is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bed. The lock structure for assuring such stopped and locked position is one which automatically locks and maintain the assist dual-position rail in a selected one of the positively-stopped and automatically locked first position, or the positively-stopped and automatically locked second position. The dual-position rail assembly is not adopted to be operated by the occupant of the bed, but it can be selectively, otherwise operated to aid a person in getting in or out of bed, or to restrain the person within the bed.

A vacuum suction apparatus with adjustment lever is disclosed. The structure of the vacuum suction apparatus includes a suction cup and a wheel base, which has a receptacle being attached by the suction cup from underneath, a semi-circular cogwheel being fixed on top of the receptacle, and an adjustment lever pivotally connected through an opening. The adjustment lever has a pinion on the bottom end, where the gearing of the pinion is to fit against corresponding gearing on the vertically erected rack at the center when the lever is in locked position. The upper portion of the lever also has a suction lock/release that allows the user to manually adjust the angle of the lever by pegging onto scooped cogwheel with a slider, so the suction strength can be adjusted desirably for continuously holding onto the same spot in extended use.

The testing method includesthe following steps that the first end of the tested tools is suspended and pivoted to the main bracket; the second end of the tested tool is pushed or pulled to make the tested tool incline; the offset distance of the second end of the tested tool is measured; and according to the offset distance, the inclination angle of the tested tool is calculated. By means of the testing equipment and the testing method, the tested tool can incline at different angles, and the working condition that the tested tool deviates from the vertical plane due to inclination of a well wall is simulated.

An article of clothing includes a waterproof inner fabric layer and an outer fabric layer. An outer opening is defined in the outer fabric layer and is selectively opened and closed by a standard zipper. The library comprises at least one interface that is adapted to establish a communication link capable of transferring data between at least one data consumer and the library. The disc drive magazine when linked with the at least one docking station is capable of storing data received by the at least one data consumer. The magazine is capable of changing from a fully active state to at least one quiescent state when storage operations as performed by the magazine requires less than a fully active magazine.

An extendible and retractable electrical extension cord device is disclosed, which includes a housing adapted to be secured to a wall of a structure, and a reel mounted in the housing for rotation. An extension cord is wound about the reel, and has a first plug end in the housing and a second plug end extending outwardly through the housing and winding relative to the reel upon rotation thereof in a first direction, and unwinding relative to the reel upon rotation thereof in a second direction. An improved breast form, constructed according to the principles of this invention, comprises a flexible chamber formed from a pair of polyurethane sheets that are sealed together along a perimeter edge of the chamber. A volume of silicone gel composition is sealably disposed within the flexible chamber. A microscope slide dispenser is formed with a slide case dispensing attachment having a slide dispensing mechanism and a disposable, plastic slide case that is removably coupled to the dispensing attachment. Once all slides have been ejected from the case, the case is discarded.

An actuation mechanism is used with the deployment apparatus mounting a running board on an automotive vehicle for laterally outward movement to increase rollover resistance for the vehicle. The actuation mechanism includes a cup with a hollow tube attached thereto to provide a path for the movement of a ball from the cup into engagement with the latching mechanism on the deployment apparatus. The ball is retained within the cup member until the actuation mechanism and the automotive vehicle to which it is mounted tilts to a minimum roll angle, whereupon the ball is released to roll down the hollow tube into engagement with the latching mechanism of the deployment apparatus. In one embodiment, a single cup with a pair of laterally extending tubes directs the ball to the deployment apparatus that requires actuation. In other embodiments, a separate actuation mechanism is provided for each respective deployment apparatus.
