The present invention, in part, relates to a carbon black having a) a nitrogen BET surface area (BET) of from about 600 m2 / g to about 2100 m2 / g, b) a CDBP value in mL / 100 g of from about (−2.8+(b*BET)) to about (108+(b*BET)), where b is 0.087 and BET is expressed in m2 / g, and c) an apparent density (p, g / cm3) of at least about 0.820+q*BET, where q=−2.5×10−4, as determined at a compressive force (P) of 200 kgf / cm2 on dry carbon black powder. Energy storage devices, such as electrochemical double layer capacitors (EDLC's), containing the carbon black are also disclosed. Methods for making the carbon blacks and EDLC's made with them are also provided.

The environment-friendly flame-retardant textile fabric adopts the double-layer fabric, the inner layer fabric is breathable andmoisture-permeable and has an antibacterial function, the outer layer fabric has a flame-retardant effect, and the polyester drawn textured yarn plays the role of connection; antibacterial fiber is cellulose acetate fiber modified by the chemical grafting of sorbic acid chloride and has good antibacterial properties, flame-retardant fiber is viscose fiber which is chemically grafted with ethyl dichlorophosphate molecules and amino-terminated polysiloxane and has good flame retardant properties and mechanical properties, and the bonding form of chemical bonding is firm, and high washable performance is achieved; and the environment-friendly flame-retardant textile fabric has good breathability and moisture permeability and a wide application range.

Crystalline superfine particles capable of emitting light depending upon a time-rate-of-change of a stress and controlled in grain size in the range from 5 nm to 100 nm are complexed with another material such as resin. The crystalline superfine particles are manufactured by using aggregates of molecules, i.e. inverted micelles, which orient hydrophilic groups of surfactant molecules inward and hydrophobic groups outward in a nonpolar solvent and which contain metal ions of a metal for forming the crystalline superfine particles dissolved in water inside the inverted micelles. Alternatively, they are manufactured by using inverted micelles enveloping precursor superfine particles, in which precursor superfine particles are enveloped in water inside the inverted micelles. The crystalline superfine particles are excellent in dispersibility in another material to be complexed, enhanced in emission efficiency and usable to make a transparent stress emission material. The complex material obtained is used to manufacture artificial light-emitting hair structures, artificial light-emitting skin, artificial light-emitting bodies, artificial light-emitting fabrics, and others.
