Problems solved by technology

[0005] However, when the outdoor temperature is low, the compressor stops and cannot perform cooling operation, or the compressor performs intermittent operation with frequent starts and stops.
If the compressor starts and stops frequently, not only will it not be able to perform real cooling operation, but the compressor oil will not circulate smoothly, which may shorten the life of the compresso

Embodiment Construction

[0029] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0030] The air conditioner provided according to the present invention, as shown in FIG. 2 , includes a control unit 40 for controlling all cooling operations.

[0031] The outdoor temperature sensor 10 is located at an appropriate position of an outdoor unit (not shown) to monitor the outdoor temperature, and provides the monitored outdoor temperature to the control unit 40 .

[0032] The indoor heat exchanger temperature sensor 20 is located on the indoor heat exchanger provided inside the indoor unit not shown and used for the evaporator during the cooling operation, so as to monitor the temperature of the indoor heat exchanger and transfer the monitored indoor heat The temperature of the exchanger is supplied to the control unit 40 .

[0033] The control unit 40 inputs user setting commands such as operation mode and desired temperatur

Abstract

The invention discloses an air conditioner and controlling method thereof capable of cooling operation in the low temperature environment when the outdoor temperature is low. The air conditioner comprises a variable capacity compressor which can vary the capacity; an indoor heat exchanger used for evaporator at the time of the cooling operation; an outdoor temperature sensor for detecting the outdoor temperature; a controlling section which confines the lower limit capacity of the compressor when the detected outdoor temperature is within the predetermined region during cooling operation, andwhich variably controls the compressor capacity to be larger than the predetermined lower limit capacity based on load. Therefore, the invention can permit the substantially cooling operation in the environment that the outdoor temperature is low, and is benefit to avoid the indoor heat exchanger being frozen, so that the reliability of the equipment cooling circulation can be ensured. Further, the invention can avoid the phenomena of the compressor damage caused by liquid cooling agent flowing in by controlling the speed of indoor fan during cooling operation.
