Infrared spectroscopy (IR spectroscopy or vibrational spectroscopy) involves the interaction of infrared radiation with matter. It covers a range of techniques, mostly based on absorption spectroscopy. As with all spectroscopic techniques, it can be used to identify and study chemical substances. Samples may be solid, liquid, or gas. The method or technique of infrared spectroscopy is conducted with an instrument called an infrared spectrometer (or spectrophotometer) to produce an infrared spectrum. An IR spectrum can be visualized in a graph of infrared light absorbance (or transmittance) on the vertical axis vs. frequency or wavelength on the horizontal axis. Typical units of frequency used in IR spectra are reciprocal centimeters (sometimes called wave numbers), with the symbol cm⁻¹. Units of IR wavelength are commonly given in micrometers (formerly called "microns"), symbol μm, which are related to wave numbers in a reciprocal way. A common laboratory instrument that uses this technique is a Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer. Two-dimensional IR is also possible as discussed below.

The invention discloses a tablet press used for infrared spectroscopic analysis. The tablet press comprises a tablet pressing chamber and a control box body, wherein the tablet pressing chamber is a hollow cavity and a supporting disc is fixedly arranged at the bottom of the cavity; a bottom mold is matched with the middle part of the supporting disc; an upper puncher pin is arranged at the upper end of the cavity in a penetrating manner; the control box body is located on the right side of the tablet pressing chamber; a tablet pressing state display screen is arranged at the upper part of the control box body and a switching group is arranged on the surface of the control box body; a processor is arranged in the control box body; and an inductor is arranged at the bottom of the tablet pressing chamber and is in electric signal connection with the processor. According to the tablet press used for the infrared spectroscopic analysis, the inductor is used for transmitting the state of pressed materials to the processor in the control box body and the state is displayed by the display screen, so that an operator can adjust buttons of the switching group by adjusting the force according to the data on the display screen; and the tablet pressing efficiency and the tablet pressing quality are guaranteed, and the foundation is laid for subsequent detection.
