Abstract

The invention provides a pedestrian identification auxiliary system and a method of a vehicle, belonging to the technical field of automobile object identification. The system and the method address how to improve the accuracy of pedestrian identification. The system includes a camera for photographing an external image of a target vehicle, at least one mobile phone signal detector and a controller. The mobile phone signal detector and the camera are connected to the controller. The method comprises the following steps of: photographing an external image of a target vehicle; detecting the existence of a mobile phone object in an effective area by transmitting a fundamental wave and receiving a feedback signal; identifying the image data of the camera and calculating according to the data sent by the mobile phone signal detector; calculating the distance and the orientation of the mobile phone-carrying object sensed by the correspond target vehicle, and superposing the mobile phone-carrying object determined by the mobile phone signal detector and an image captured by the camera, so as to establish the specific position of the mobile phone-carrying object in the image so as to carryout pedestrian identification. The accuracy of pedestrian or cyclist identification is improved.
