The method comprises the steps of according to attribute information of a file of a received file downloading command, acquiring the HTTP downloading path of the file and the information of a remote client capable of providing downloading, and generating a to-be-downloaded section of the file in an uncompleted section; when the to-be-downloaded section of the file in the uncompleted section is detected, acquiring a preset quantity of HTTP fragment sections and a P2P fragment sectionfrom the to-be-downloaded section of the file; according to the HTTP fragment sections and the HTTP downloading path, concurrently downloading the preset quantity of HTTP data pieces from an HTTP server; according to the P2P fragment section and the information of the remote client, downloading P2P data pieces from the remote client; and writing the HTTP data pierces and the P2P data pieces intothe completed section, and acquiring the file from the completed section. According to the method, device, client and system provided by the invention, the downloading speed can be improved under thecondition of relatively poor network.
