Application of circular RNA, kit, pharmaceutical composition and application of pharmaceutical composition

The technology of a kit and composition, applied in the field of biomedicine, can solve the problem that the 5-year survival rate of patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma is not significantly improved, the pathogenic mechanism is not completely clear, and there is a lack of effective targets for the diagnosis and treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma, etc. question

AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This patented method allows researchers to study how certain types of cells called circular R Ns (circular RNA) can behave differently from healthy ones when they're exposed to other substances like bacteria that may be harmful if taken into their body). By comparing this with regular saliva samples collected during routine dentistry procedures, scientists have been able to identify specific forms of circulating nucleic acids associated with tumors such as mouth sores caused by viruses. These methods could potentially lead to new ways to diagnose diseases related to oral cavity conditions.

Problems solved by technology

This patents discusses how certain types of small molecules called CircRNs are found within cells throughout our bodies. They were previously identified only from blood samples taken during dentistry procedures but now they appear to function like tiny chemical messengers inside living things. However, these Chemoattractants could potentially help diagnose or treat diseases such as cancer through their ability to target them specifically towards particular areas where they work better.

Embodiment Construction

[0064] The conception and technical effects of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below in conjunction with the embodiments, so as to fully understand the purpose, features and effects of the present invention.

[0065] 1. Materials and methods

[0066] 1.1 Specimen organization

[0067] In accordance with the Declaration of Helsing and the NIH regulations on the use of clinical specimens, approved by the Ethics Committee of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, and after the patients gave full informed consent and signed the informed consent form, the collected samples were treated at the Peking University Shenzhen Hospital from June 2015 to October 2016. 40 pairs of maxillofacial surgery confirmed by pathological results, surgical resection of oral squamous cell carcinoma patients with cancer and adjacent normal mucosal tissue. All patients had not undergone radiotherapy and chemotherapy before operation, and their ages ranged from 29 to 78 years old

Abstract

The invention provides an application of circular RNA as a diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic target of oral squamous cell carcinoma, a corresponding kit, a pharmaceutical composition, and an application of the pharmaceutical composition. The CircBase ID of the circular RNA is at least one of the following IDs: hsa-circ-0093229, hsa-circ-0006208, hsa-circ-0006677 and hsa-circ-0004491. The kitfor diagnosis and/or prognosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma includes reagents for quantitative detection of the circular RNA. The circular RNA disclosed by the invention has obvious expression differences on cancer and paracancerous normal mucosal tissues of a patient with oral squamous cell carcinoma while a conventional clinical auxiliary diagnosis technology of oral squamous cell carcinoma is not perfect, so the circular RNA has the potential to be used as the diagnostic, therapeutic and prognostic target for oral squamous cell carcinoma.
