1 results about "Castability" patented technology

Castability is the ease of forming a quality casting. A very castable part design is easily developed, incurs minimal tooling costs, requires minimal energy, and has few rejections. Castability can refer to a part design or a material property.

The invention discloses aluminum-lanthanum-boron-strontium intermediate alloy for cast aluminum-silicon alloy and a preparation method of the aluminum-lanthanum-boron-strontium intermediate alloy. According to the preparation method, with Al-3B intermediate alloy, Al-10La intermediate alloy and Al-10Sr intermediate alloy as raw materials, the Al-10La intermediate alloy is added firstly to react with the Al-3B intermediate alloy at high temperature to produce a lanthanum-boron compound, and then the Al-10Sr intermediate alloy is added at lower temperature to enable strontium not to react with boron or the lanthanum-boron compound basically, thus the prepared aluminum-lanthanum-boron-strontium intermediate alloy is ensured to mainly contain the lanthanum-boron compound and an aluminum-strontium binary phase. The intermediate alloy can be applied to structure improvement of binary aluminum-silicon alloy and is more suitable for optimizing the structure of cast aluminum alloy with complex components. With adoption of the intermediate alloy, primary aluminum dendrites in a solidification structure is changed from developed dendrites to fine equiaxed grains without generating the harmful phenomena of fading of refinement, metamorphic degradation and the like, so that metamorphose can be effectively carried out on eutectic silicon to enable the eutectic silicon to be changed from a lamellar shape to a short rod shape and even a granular shape, thus the comprehensive mechanical property of the cast aluminum-silicon alloy and the castability of the cast aluminum-silicon alloy are improved.
