Abstract

The invention provides a network resource optimizing method and a corresponding device which are applied to access equipment providing wireless access services to wireless terminal STA. The method and the device are characterized in that the method includes the following steps: step A, monitoring data flow of an online STA already accessed to a network, recording time duration when the online STA has no data flow, and adding the STA serving as an idle STA into an idle STA list when the time duration reaches a first preset threshold value; step B, judging whether enough online resources existing in a current network can be distributed to a new STA or not when the new STA requests for access to the network, if yes, allowing the new STA to be online, if not, selecting an idle STA from the idle STA list, enabling the idle STA to be offline to release online resources occupied by the idle STA, and then allowing the new STA to be online. By the method and the device, the defect of idle detection can be overcome, and a powerful guarantee is provided to network resource optimization.
