Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows for creating different types of Schisandra plants with improved stress tolerance even at very hot or severe temperatures compared to other crops grown on land. Additionally, it has been found that these plantings also produce more productive seeds per unit area when exposed to moderate amounts of water during periods of low precipitation (pH 6.5-7).

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed by this patents relates to improving the production process of these plant materials used in traditional methods such as breeding or fermentation processes due to their poor yields and inconsistently produced qualities that limit its use potentials across different markets worldwide.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for cultivating schisandra chinensis. The method includes the steps that a forest of wild schisandra chinensis is selected on a mountain, 1500-2000 breeding parental plants are reserved, and other plants are removed; then, at the flowering phase of the next year, cross pollination and repeated crossing pollination are conducted on the reserved breeding parental plants, 1000-2000 excellent seeds are selected for growing seedlings after fruits are grown, and flat ground open-air cultivation and domestication are carried out under a full exposure condition; trunks of the seedlings need to be cut as low as possible in domestication, each seedling can germinate 3-4 main vines from a base part, slight cutting is conducted in the growing process, and an erected support is full of branches and tendrils; at last, seedling growing and planting are conducted on the seeds grown by the schisandra chinensis which is subjected to cultivation and domestication, and accordingly a schisandra chinensis variety is obtained. The schisandra chinensis variety cultivated through the method has obvious stress resistance, and the schisandra chinensis can still grow normally under the high temperature and slight arid condition; meanwhile, the yield of the cultivated schisandra chinensis is improved obviously compared with the yield of the wild schisandra chinensis, and the yield is about 1.3 times of the yield of the wild schisandra chinensis.
