Abstract

Multiple embodiments of the invention provide an authentication method and device for an application client of terminal equipment. Access network equipment in different regions configures IP addresses of different authentication servers, and receives a http access network message sent by the terminal equipment via the APP client; the access network equipment judges whether the APP client has been authenticated; if the APP client has been authenticated, the access network equipment forwards data sent by the terminal equipment via the APP client to a network server corresponding to the http access network message; and if the APP client has not been authenticated, the access network equipment redirects the http access network message of the APP client to the configured IP address of the authentication server, and sends the redirected http message to the terminal equipment. The method and the device can solve the problem that the address of the APP server is difficult to change in the APP client in the existing solution, so that the APP client can learn in which APP server address the authentication is going to be completed.
