The method comprises the following steps of obtaining initial coordinates of base points in a base point dot matrix of a face; according to the initial coordinates of the base points, the base points and connecting lines between the adjacent base points in the base point dot matrix are displayed in the picture; obtaining a first operation instruction; determining a new coordinate of the base point according to the first operation instruction; refreshing the positions of the base points in the display picture and the connecting lines between the adjacent base points in the base point dot matrix according to the new coordinates of the base points; obtaininga second operation instruction; and according to the second operation instruction, rendering the skin on the base points and a curved surface formed by connection between the adjacent base points. According to the method, the face of the virtual character is generated according to the coordinates in the base point dot matrix, and a user can adjust the position of the base point according to own preferences to shape different face curved surfaces, so that the personalized face of the virtual character is rendered.
