Abstract

The invention discloses a method for acquiring information of equipment hung under a gateway. The method is applied to a first gateway. A hanging device is hung below the first gateway. The first gateway is bridged to a second gateway. The method comprises the steps that the hanging device communicates with a second gateway through a DHCP protocol to obtain a first IP address; the hanging device broadcasts a DHCP selection message after selecting the first IP address provided by the second gateway, including starting a DHCP monitoring process on the first gateway to monitor the DHCP selectionmessage; based on the DHCP selection message, obtaining the first device information of the hanging device, wherein the first device information comprises the first IP address; based on the second IPaddress and the first IP address, sending an ARP request packet to the hanging device, wherein the second IP address is an IP address obtained by a second DHCP client in the first gateway from the second gateway, and the second IP address and the first IP address are located in the same network segment; and when an ARP response packet fed back by the hanging device is received, determining that the hanging device is in an online state and the first device information is valid.
