Benefits of technology

This patented technology describes an improved way to create a flexible cover over a shoulder harness (SRS) without affecting its function. By placing a slot along this edge where the SRS's mountings are located, it makes sure they don’t get stuck during inflation. When the bag expands, the bolt moves backward causing another section called a split line to form. To prevent damage from being pulled too tighten, the splash zone needs to have enough force against the seatbelt before it goes inside. Additionally, the design prevents debris entering the pocket while expanding the bag. Overall, these improvements improve safety performance and ease of use compared to existing designs.

Problems solved by technology

This technical problem addressed by this patented technology relates to improving safety during automobile crash events while also ensuring proper placement of passenger restraint devices within vehicles without compromising their effectiveness due to the use of bulky cushion materials.

Embodiment Construction

[0025] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Here, front, rear, left, and right are based on the driver's point of view.

[0026] figure 1 It is a side view of the vehicle according to the present invention viewed from the vehicle cabin side, and shows a state in which the vehicle occupant protection device 50 is mounted on the vehicle 10 (a state where the roof side airbag 53 is deployed). Here, with regard to the occupant protection device 50 for a vehicle, only the structure arranged on the right side of the vehicle 10 is shown. Since the vehicle occupant protection device 50 on the left side has the same structure as that on the right side, description thereof will be omitted.

[0027] The vehicle 10 is a motor vehicle generally called a mini-bread, in which three front and rear rows of seats, such as front seats 12, middle row seats 13, and rear seats 14, are provided in a cabin 11. . The str

Abstract

To provide an occupant protecting device for a vehicle capable of achieving smooth deployment without being obstructed by a seat belt. The occupant protecting device for the vehicle includes a curtain airbag 53 structured so that a slit 83 to admit insertion of the seat belt 42 is formed in the seat belt deployment region 106 at the tail 79C, and by the slit, the central part 107 and the tail 79C of the rear part bag portion 74R are divided into the first 111 and the second bag segment 112 and the first 113 and the second tail segment 114. When the curtain airbag is deployed, the seat belt set previously intrudes into the slit. Accordingly a smooth deployment can be made without being obstructed by the seat belt. When the curtain airbag is to be folded up in cylindrical form, the open end of the slit will not be opened by the ruptural part. Handling at folding up will be facilitated.
