Abstract

The invention provides a safety device for a passenger transporting apparatus, and a safety control method thereof. A laser scanning sensor (1a, 1b) is arranged near the exit of the passenger transporting apparatus to detect the movement of the passengers at a plane coordinate through the scanning of the laser scanning sensor. When the moving speed of the passengers is lower than a specified value, a voice prompt for prompting attention is generated by a speech synthesis device (11) and a loudspeaker (12a, 12b); when the jam of the passengers is lasted for a long time, a control inverter installation (8) generates frequency and voltage to reduce the speed of a drive motor (9) or stop the same. Thereby, under the states of direct sunshine by day, sunset shine at dusk, and less light at night, the moving speed of the passengers can be accurately detected to form the safety device.
