Abstract

In the past, in the case of a portable cutting machine whereby a user performed a cutting operation by moving the same in the cutting progress direction in such a way that the same is positioned on top of an article being cut, dust beneath the lower surface of the article being cut was not sufficiently collected. In this regard, provided is a dust collector which efficiently collects dust beneath the lower surface of the article being cut, and is capable of being installed on, and removed from, a cutting machine, resulting in better handling quality. A U-shaped support arm (22) is removably installed on a base (2). A box-shaped dust receiver (21) is supported immediately below a cutting blade (5) via this support arm (22). By means of this dust receiver (21), dust generated beneath the lower surface of the article being cut is received and collected.
