The method includes the following steps: after the Beidou navigator is powered on, a system is initialized, and a central processing module, an LCD touch module, a Bluetooth module, a back-up image module, an audio module, a Beidou navigation module, a data storage module, an instruction analysis module and a 3G communication module are started; the Beidou navigator is successfully bound with a vehicle-owner cell-phone number; the instruction analysis module monitors a text message received by the 3G communication module and analyses the content of the text message so as to judge whether it is the vehicle-owner cell-phone number which sends a vehicle retrieving instruction and if so, a vehicle-loss retrieving module is started and the bound vehicle-owner cell-phone number requests retrieval; and if not, the Beidou navigator works normally; and a background starts a retrieving service and positions a current position every half a hour and sends position information which is accurate at a longitude and latitude level to a vehicle-owner handset and a foreground is at a normal work state.
