AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This technology helps analyze data from compressive sensors by finding ways to reduce noise caused during imaging without losing important details about what happened before being captured or analyzed for diagnostic purposes. By comparing different versions of an imaged object's X ray images taken at various angles, we found that there was no difference between these two types of scans when they were collected together over time. These differences resulted in less distortion compared to other methods like xray tomography but still showed up some streaks called stripes due to imperfections within each scan. Overall, our technical effect of this method allows us to improve how accurate medical diagnosis tools work while reducing unwanted visual features such as blurriness and shading associated with computed tomographic (CT) images.

Problems solved by technology

Technics Problem addressed in this patents discuss how importantly low levels of ionizing radiation exposure during computed tomographic imagery may cause adverse effects like increased risk of developing tumors or other health issues associated therewith. Current methods involve decreasing the amount of x ray fluorescence detected per second while also trying to avoid generating unwanted background noises caused by the use of filters called filter backspins. These techniques aim to enhance the accuracy of reconstructive procedures performed before performing actual patient tests.

Abstract

The invention discloses a sparse angle CT image reconstruction method based on gamma prior, which can be directly applied to the medical CT projection data, and solves the problems that the sparse angle CT imaging is susceptible to the affection of striped artifact, and the quality of the CT image is remarkably reduced. The method comprises the following steps: carrying out the sparse-angle sampling for an object according to a uniform angle, and acquiring the sparse projection data; carrying out the iterative reconstruction for the acquired projection data by utilizing a gamma prior model; and finally displaying the reconstructed CT image according to an appropriate window width and a window level. The experiment result of clinical data proves that the striped artifact in the CT image under the sparse angle can be effectively inhibited, so that the quality of the CT image under the sparse angle is approximate to the clinical quality level of the normal-angle CT image, and the method can be well applied and popularized in the existing CT device.
