Abstract

The invention discloses a method and a device for playing a live program based on an Internet protocol television and belongs to the Internet field. The method comprises the following steps of receiving a playing instruction of a target live program, wherein the playing instruction carries a live address and a time shift address of the target live program; obtaining live data of the target live program from a live streaming server based on the live address; carrying out live telecast on the target live program based on the live data; establishing and keeping a time shift data channel with a time shift server based on the time shift address in a live process of the target live program; when receiving a time shift instruction, stopping live telecast of the target live program and obtaining the time shift data of the target live program from the time shift server through the time shift data channel; and playing the target live program based on the time shift data. According to the method and the device, the efficiency for playing the target live program can be improved.
