A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display or other electronically modulated optical device that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead using a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome. LCDs are available to display arbitrary images (as in a general-purpose computer display) or fixed images with low information content, which can be displayed or hidden, such as preset words, digits, and seven-segment displays, as in a digital clock. They use the same basic technology, except that arbitrary images are made up of many small pixels, while other displays have larger elements. LCDs can either be normally on (positive) or off (negative), depending on the polarizer arrangement. For example, a character positive LCD with a backlight will have black lettering on a background that is the color of the backlight, and a character negative LCD will have a black background with the letters being of the same color as the backlight. Optical filters are added to white on blue LCDs to give them their characteristic appearance.

Mechanical and automatic liquid crystal display device

A mechanical and automatic liquid crystal display (LCD) device and particularly to a mechanical and automatic LCD device for automatically and rapidly unloading and storing the LCD panel that is especially suitable for a LCD device which has a display panel foldable upwards for storing includes a case for housing an extendable deck, a coupling mechanism, a display panel holding mechanism and an upward folding actuation means. The structure thus formed can replace the expensive electronic circuit control to enable users to automatically and rapidly unload or retract and store the display panel, and also adjust and remember the viewing angle of the display panel to meet user's requirements.

The invention discloses a three-dimensional display module capable of being viewed in two directions, comprising an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen and a grating display screen. The LCD screen provides backlight of a light source; the grating display screen is attached to the LCD screen and is provided with a transversal grating fringe and a vertical grating fringe with controllable display states; the transversal grating fringe transversally blocks the pixels of the LCD screen, and the vertical grating fringe vertically blocks the sub-pixels of the LCD screen. The vertical grating fringe of the grating display screen can vertically block the sub-pixels of the LCD screen so as to overcome the pixel arrangement limit of the prior LCD and freely realize the three-dimensional viewing effect in the transversal direction and the vertical direction without color change phenomena while improving the display resolution and viewing clearer and more refined three-dimensional images.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device prevents the gray level folding in at least one of the vicinities of the highest and lowest gray levels while avoiding the complication of the data line driver circuit. The data line driver circuit generates output voltages whose number is equal to a predetermined gray level number M based on reference voltages, and selects one of the output voltages and outputs the selected one to the display section in response to an inputted image signal, thereby displaying images The applied voltage-brightness characteristic of the display section has a zero brightness change region in which the reference voltage corresponding to the highest gray level is located. The reference voltage corresponding to the next lower level to the highest level is set such that the brightness at the next lower level is lower than that at the highest level by a predetermined difference.

Control method and apparatus for touch control screen page coiling of hand-hold electronic apparatus

Disclosed are a control method and a device for scrolling page frames on a touch screen of a hand-held electronic device. The control method comprises steps of overlapping a liquid crystal display with a touch panel, wherein the area of the touch panel is larger than that of the liquid crystal display, the overlapped region is a first touch region, the non-overlapped region is defined into a second and third touch regions, further, judging whether a scroll is displayed in a picture of the display or not, if the scroll is judged displaying in the picture, then sensing a sliding path in the second touch region, controlling the page frame in the picture to scroll up and down according to the sliding path, executing functions of the selected page frame by pressing the first touch region, if the scroll is found not displaying, then sensing a sliding path in the third touch region, and controlling the page frame in the picture to slide left and right according to the sliding path, thereby executing functions of the selected page frame by further pressing the first touch region.

Liquid crystal display device and driving method thereof

ActiveCN101399013ANo loss of picture qualityImprove drive response speedStatic indicating devicesNon-linear opticsLiquid-crystal displayControl theory
The invention relates to a liquid crystal display (LCD) device and a drive method thereof. The drive method comprises: compensating input voltage of data wires in the current frame by comparing the input voltages of the data wire in the current frame and the former frame, thereby leading the input voltage of the data wire after being compensated to form overshoot voltage and to be output into a liquid crystal panel; controlling the starting / closing of LED backlight, when the overshoot voltage is output to the liquid crystal panel, the LED backlight is closed; while the overshoot voltage is recovered to the normal voltage, the LED backlight is started. The liquid crystal display (LCD) device comprises the liquid crystal panel, a time schedule controller, an overshooting device, a data driven device, a grid actuator and an inverter; wherein, the inverter is used for controlling the starting / closing of a plurality of lighting tubes in the LED backlight; when the overshoot voltage is output to the liquid crystal panel, the LED backlight is closed; while the overshoot voltage is recovered to the normal voltage, the LED backlight is started. The liquid crystal display (LCD) device and the drive method thereof have the advantage of rapid driving response, and the overshoot or undershoot can not cause image quality to be reduced, thereby decreasing the phenomenon of trailing smear and improving the dynamic display image quality.
