Abstract

The invention provides a lift shaft monitoring system and a monitoring method thereof. The lift shaft monitoring system comprises a lift shaft with a containing space, a lift car which does hoisting movement along the containing space of the lift shaft, a foreign matter detection system and a driving device for driving the lift car to move, wherein the foreign matter detection system comprises a light emitter, a light receiver and a controller; the light emitter covers a whole bottom wall of the lift car and emits longitudinal light for irradiating the light receiver; the light receiver is arranged at the bottom of the lift shaft and corresponds to the light emitter; the controller is connected with the light receiver and the driving device respectively. According to the lift shaft monitoring system and the monitoring method thereof, the foreign matter detection system is additionally arranged; when foreign matters appear in the lift shaft, the operation of the lift car can be stopped in time, so that on one hand, the lift car is protected from damages caused by the foreign matters; on the other hand, people and animals, who inadvertently stray into the lift shaft, are protected.
