Benefits of technology

The present technology described by this patented method allows scientists to accurately measure how much certain chemical compounds are found inside milk or baby's diet compared to other methods like spectrometry. It makes things simpler than previous techniques that were used beforehand because there was no complicated process involved during analysis.

Problems solved by technology

This patented method involves analyzing samples from cow's milk by measuring its contents with specific chemical compounds called caffeine or lysophospholysis glycerin (LPC). These techniques can provide important insights into how much carnitine has been consumed during pregnancy and affect their growth prospects.

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for measuring the content of L-carnitine in infant foods and dairy products by spectrophotometry. According to the research, by utilizing a principle that free L-carnitine in the products can react with acetylcoenzyme to generate acetylcarnitine and free coenzyme, the amount of yellow substances generated by reaction between the free coenzyme and a color developingsolution is detected through the spectrophotometry, thereby indirectly calculating the content of the L-carnitine in a sample. An experimental result shows that the addition amount of an acetylcoenzyme solution is 80 [mu] L, the addition amount of a carnitine acetyltransferase solution is 100 [mu] L, the reaction time is 5 minutes, and accurate, economic and rapid detection requirements can be met.
