Benefits of technology

The technical effect of this patented method described by the inventors relates to preventing people who use rideshare systems (such as those provided through charities) from receiving personal privacy concerns when they don't have any permission beforehand. This ensures fair competition among ridership companies while also improving security measures against fraudulence attacks.

Problems solved by technology

Technological Problem addressed in this patented text relates to improving wireless phone based passenger shaving systems used worldwide for connecting riders to remote locations like train stations or cars. Current solutions require expensive infrastructure investment due to factors including costly licenses paid per use charges, limited availability of WiFi hotspots available overnight, difficulty finding out suitable places for these connections, and difficulties negotiating agreements made afterward even if all three parties have agreed beforehand.

Abstract

The proposal concerns a method for providing Internet access to a customer of a service provider (BC, RC). Ones the customer uses this service he may get Internet access free of charge. Actually the service provider (BC, RC) takes over the costs for the customer's Internet use during that time. The method includes the following method steps. When the customer has agreed to the service and the service starts, the customer's user equipment (10) generates a service start notification message to a server of the service provider. This service start notification message triggers the sending out of a query to a data base containing customer data of the service provider (BC, RC), and the checking if the customer has access rights for getting Internet access at the service provider's expenses. If yes, the service provider (BC, RC) generates and sends out a request message to the mobile communication provider (MC) of the customer and requests an intermediate change of the customer's mobile communication contract such that the costs for loading Internet data on the customers user equipment will be temporarily charged to the service provider (BC, RC) instead of charging it to the customer.
