AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

This patented technology allows for accurate evaluation of medical scans that are affected by factors like abnormalities within them without requiring extensive training from experienced professionals. It uses algorithms to analyze large numbers of grayscale values obtained during examinations while reducing their manual effort required compared to traditional methods.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed in this patented solution is how to improve upon existing methods for controlling electronic devices by providing more flexibility or customization options based on user preferences rather than just simply allowing users access control settings through fixed buttons.

Embodiment Construction

[0047]The method of the invention is previously based on processing applied to the medical images. Amongst these processing operations, particular use is made of segmentation and thresholding.

[0048]Segmentation

[0049]Segmentation consists is dividing or partitioning an image into homogeneous regions in accordance with a chosen criterion (grey scale, texture, etc.), to extract useful information, for example by individualizing sets of shape and / or signal within normal structures.

[0050]Thresholding

[0051]Thresholding is a type of segmentation which enables an image to be binarised by choosing two values (a minimum and a maximum) as selection criterion, depending on whether each pixel of the image does or does not belong to the interval between these two values.

[0052]Connectivity

[0053]Segmentation is used to partition an image into several sets. A set of points is characterized by the connectivity existing between all the points of this set. A distinction is made between two levels of con

Abstract

A method to transmit a label between two images, characterized in that the method includes the following steps:
    • providing a first image, the first image comprising several sets of connected points, each set being characterized by a label,
    • providing a second image,
    • from the second image, determining several sets of connected points,
    • superimposing the two images to determine the common parts and non-common parts of the sets in the first and second image,
    • giving each common part of the second image, the label of the set in the first image with which said part is common,
    • giving each non-common part of the second image in contact with a single set of connected points in the first image, the label of said set,
    • giving a new label to each non-common part of the second image not in contact with any set in the first image.
