Benefits of technology

This new double-stents are designed specifically for use during angioplasty procedures on blood vessels that have been blocked by blockages or narrowings caused due to arteriosclerosis. They can be placed inside these areas without blocking them from flowing through again after surgery.

Problems solved by technology

This patent describes how current methods involve attaching a single scaffle covering a portion of the blood flow pathway called the arterial rupture (aneurism) bifunctional device to treat these types of vasculature defects like those caused by abdominal surgery. Current methods have limitations including poor attachment of the film over time leading to leakage through small holes around weakened areas causing complications; difficulty maintaining sufficient tension when expanding multiple devices can result in inconsistencies across sites requiring further surgeries.

Embodiment Construction

[0033] proposed by the present invention and in figure 1 The double support generally indicated by the reference numeral 1 comprises a first inner support 2 and a second outer support 3 arranged coaxially with each other. Outer bracket 3 is slightly shorter than inner bracket 2. The entire double stent 1 is shown in the unexpanded state. Between the inner support 2 and the outer support 3 a first inner membrane 4 is arranged. The outer support 3 is surrounded by a second outer membrane 5 . Membranes 4 and 5 are both made of ePTFE.

[0034]The inner membrane 4 and the outer membrane 5 are brought together at their ends and folded inwards into the hollow space of the inner bracket 2 around the upper edge of the double bracket 1 . As an example, one of several flexible tongues 6 forming part of the inner support 2 is shown, which is bent inwardly and serves to clamp the inwardly folded edges of the membranes 4 and 5 in place.

[0035] As shown in Figure 1 , the inner stent 2 is

Abstract

The invention relates to a double stent having two coaxially arranged stents (2, 3), a first membrane (4) being arranged between a first, inner stent (2) and the second, outer stent (3), and a secondmembrane (5) being arranged on the second stent (3); the ends of the first and second membranes (4, 5) are joined together at the ends of the stents (2, 3) and are folded over onto the inner face of the first stent (2) where they are fixed.
