The invention discloses an intelligent street lamp control method, and relates to the technical field of urban lighting. The method comprises the following steps that: according to road monitoring information, a target on a monitored road section, a street lamp to which the position of the target belongs, and a relative position of the target and the street lamp to which the target belongs are acquired, wherein the target can be a person or a vehicle; the moving speed of the target is calculated; when the moving speed is not zero, the street lamp to which the target belongs is controlled to be turned on through a gateway, and when the target exceeds the preset range of the street lamp to which the target belongs, the next street lamp on the moving route of the target is controlled to be turned on through the gateway, wherein the preset range is smaller than the illumination range of the street lamp; when the moving speed is zero, if the target is a person or the target is a vehicle with a person therein, the street lamp to which the target belongs is controlled to be turned on; and otherwise, the street lamp to which the target belongs is controlled to be turned off. According to the invention, different control over the street lamp is achieved according to different targets and moving speeds of the targets, the most reasonable and economical lighting mode can be adopted for the street lamp under different conditions, and the implementation cost is low.
