The invention discloses a vehicle wheel and an automobile having the same. The vehicle wheel comprises a rim, a tire, a plurality of tappet assemblies, a gasbag, a tire pressure sensor and a gasbag blasting machine, wherein the tire is mounted on the rim; the tappet assemblies are arranged in the tire at intervals along the circumference of the tire, and each tappet assembly is movably mounted on the rim between a support position of the inner circumference surface for supporting the tire and a retraction position separated from the inner circumference surface of the tire; the gasbag is arranged around the rim in the tire and is used for pushing the tappet assemblies to move to the support position when being blasted; the tire pressure sensor is arranged in the tire and is used for detecting the air pressure in the tire; and the gas blasting device is arranged in the tire, is connected with the tire pressure sensor and the gas bag, respectively and is used for blasting the gas bag according to an air pressure test value of the tire pressure sensor. According to the embodiment of the invention, the vehicle wheel has a tire puncture protection function and can maintain the balance of the automobile during the tire puncturing, so that the safety performance of the whole automobile is substantially improved.
