Abstract

The invention discloses a water heater and a control method thereof. The control method of the water heater comprises the following steps: the number of appointed carried terminal equipment in a family region range is obtained; a target water temperature of the water heater is adjusted according to the number of the appointed carried terminal equipment; and water in the water heater is heated to the target water temperature. The water heater counts the number of present appointed carried terminal equipment in real time, and heats water according to the number, so that the water temperature heated by the water heater is corresponding to the person number, and the water use demands by users are met when the water is heated as less as possible.
