Benefits of technology

This technology allows for better control over how much heat-fused metal (molten wires) are fed into an apparatus that creates three dimensional models quickly without getting stuck due to too many times being done at once.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed in this patents relates to controlling how long the movement distance for a 3D printer's nozzles should take into account factors like temperature changes during operation due to environmental conditions such as humidity and airflow. Additionally, there may also exist issues where the noodels have bent when they move too far away from their original position on top of each others.

Abstract

The invention discloses a continuous carbon fiber 3D printing selective intermittent feeding device. The feeding device comprises a first guide wheel, a second guide wheel, a first driving mechanism and a second driving mechanism, wherein one side of a peripheral surface of the first guide wheel is arranged opposite to one side of the peripheral surface of the second guide wheel, and the axis of the first guide wheel is parallel to the axis of the second guide wheel; the second driving mechanism can drive the opposing faces of the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel to approach/separate from each other. The wire rod (3D printing raw material) passes through an area between the first guide wheel and the second guide wheel, and is guided to a printing nozzle through the power of first guide wheel or/and the second guide wheel, and when the wire rod is bonded with a workstation, the second actuating mechanism drives the opposite faces of first guide wheel and second guide wheel to keep away from each other, the first driving mechanism is shut down, and the wire rod can be continuously pulled out passively along with the movement of the printing nozzle at the moment, thereby switching the active feeding into passive feeding.
