The cigarette grooves are transversely and obliquely formed and evenly distributed in the vertical direction of the screen plate, through grooves are formed in the sieve plate, each cigarette groove is divided into a first screening section, a second screening section and a third screening section that are different in section size, two first chutes are formed in each of two sides of the sieve plate, and two second chutes are formed between the two first chutes. First screening teethare arranged in positions, corresponding to the first chutes, of the screening grooves, and second screening teeth are arranged in positions, corresponding to the second chutes, of the screening grooves. The cigarette diameter detection device is used for solving the problem that the detection precision and the detection speed cannot be guaranteed simultaneously as it is needed to place the cigarettes in detection holes when the diameters of the cigarettes are detected in the prior art.
