Benefits of technology

The patented technology allows for easier understanding by players when they are playing games with an increased size on their screen. This makes it easy for them to see what's happening or how things happen.

Problems solved by technology

This patent describes a problem with traditional slot machines that use linear segments to show symbols on a pay line. These types of machines are complex enough but still require a lot of space due to their linear design. Therefore, this patent proposes a solution where a new shape of section can replace the original one.

first embodiment

[0033] First, a description is given of an exemplary slot machine according to an embodiment of the invention with reference to FIGS. 2, and 7 to 10.

[0034] The slot machine according to the embodiment is a video slot machine having an image displaying device such as a liquid crystal display device to display images of various kinds of symbols for a game.

[0035] As shown in FIG. 2, a slot machine 10 includes a liquid crystal display device 30 with a first displaying surface 31a on which circular sections are displayed in the form of coaxial circles having different radii. As shown in FIGS. 7 to 10, the slot machine 10 displays a valid area 7 and other areas in different colors. The slot machine 10 displays circular sections 3a to 3d and the valid area 7 in a rotational motion around an axis aligned with the center of the coaxial circles (see FIG. 8). Subsequently, the slot machine 10 displays an enlarged display of the valid area 7 when the circular sections 3a to 3d and the valid area

second embodiment

[0107] A description is given of an exemplary slot machine according to a second embodiment of the present invention with reference to FIGS. 12 and 13.

[0108] The configuration of the slot machine according to the second embodiment is similar to that of the first embodiment (see FIG. 1). It should be noted that as shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, the slot machine according to the second embodiment rotationally and statically displays a valid area 7 when circular sections 3a to 3d have been statically displayed subsequent to the rotational display thereof.

a. Operation of Slot Machine 10

[0109] A description is given of a routine for controlling a slot machine 10 according to the second embodiment executed by a controller 100 with reference to FIG. 11. Only a brief description is given of those which have been described in the first embodiment.

[0110] CPU 106 determines whether or not the credit inserted by a player remains (step S21). When CPU 106 determines “YES”, it moves the process to ste

Abstract

A slot machine includes a display device and a controller. The display device dynamically and statically displays circular sections aligned in coaxial circles with different radii. Each section displays game symbols. The controller is configured with the logic to: (a) determine a circular sector coaxial with the coaxial circles as a valid area; (b) control the display device to display the valid area; (c) control the display device to display the circular sections and the valid area in a rotational motion around an axis of the coaxial circles, in response to an instruction for starting a game given by a player; (d) control the display device to statically display the rotationally displayed circular sections and valid area; and (e) provide an award to the player when the display device has statically displayed predetermined symbols on a predetermined number of the circular sections within the valid area.
