The industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) radio bands are radio bands (portions of the radio spectrum) reserved internationally for the use of radio frequency (RF) energy for industrial, scientific and medical purposes other than telecommunications. Examples of applications in these bands include radio-frequency process heating, microwave ovens, and medical diathermy machines. The powerful emissions of these devices can create electromagnetic interference and disrupt radio communication using the same frequency, so these devices are limited to certain bands of frequencies. In general, communications equipment operating in these bands must tolerate any interference generated by ISM applications, and users have no regulatory protection from ISM device operation.

The invention provides a mobile video monitoring system based on cognitive radio. The mobile video monitoring system comprises a control center and a mobile terminal. The control center is wirelessly communicated with the mobile terminal through an ISM frequency band. The control center is used for monitoring communication quality and determining whether spectrum sensing and channel switching need to be carried out or not according to the communication quality. If data transmission between the mobile terminal and the control center cannot be recovered through the channel switching, the data transmission of the mobile terminal is relayed through a relay robot. The invention further provides a mobile video monitoring method. According to the mobile video monitoring system and the method, the unfixed communication frequency band is adopted, and in the ISM frequency band, channel interference is automatically sensed and avoided, and the interference problem is solved. The wireless signal fading problem is solved through power control and relay transferring, and therefore the real-time performance and reliability of video transmission are guaranteed. The mobile video monitoring system and the method do not depend on the coverage of the commercial wireless network, and have actual application significance in video monitoring in the emergency environment, the severe environment and the unknown environment.

Embodiments disclosed herein relate to using cobalt (Co) to fine tune the magnetic properties, such as permeability and magnetic loss, of nickel-zinc ferrites to improve the material performance in electronic applications. The method comprises replacing nickel (Ni) with sufficient Co+2 such that the relaxation peak associated with the Co+2 substitution and the relaxation peak associated with the nickel to zinc (Ni / Zn) ratio are into near coincidence. When the relaxation peaks overlap, the material permeability can be substantially maximized and magnetic loss substantially minimized. The resulting materials are useful and provide superior performance particularly for devices operating at the 13.56 MHz ISM band.
