Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a transmission method of media data, a network-side apparatus and a communication system, wherein the transmission method of the media data comprises the steps of: determining a predicted time length required for completing the channel switching by a terminal when receiving a channel switching request sent by the terminal; determining a starting internal coding frame according to the predicted time length, wherein the starting internal coding frame is a starting frame corresponding to unicast media data to be sent to the terminal; and sending the unicast media data cached after the starting internal coding frame is determined to the terminal, and stopping sending the unicast media data to the terminal when a unicast media data packet currently sent to the terminal is same as a first multicast media data packet received by the terminal from a multicast source. The embodiment of the invention is beneficial for improving the sending efficiency of the unicast media data in the fast channel switching process.
