Abstract

The invention relates to a new method for preventing coal dust explosion under a coal mine shaft. The method is characterized in that a low-pressure spray gun or sprayer is used for spraying a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution at a concentration of 0.5% on a working face, a conveyor belt and the places on which the coal dust is deposited; as polyvinyl alcohol is a high polymer, the atomized polyvinyl alcohol can bond and absorb the coal dust particles and the particles quickly fall onto the ground, thus effectively reducing the concentration of the coal dust in the air; and the coal dust canbe hardened and lose explosibility even if the coal dust is air-dried again, thus effectively eliminating the coal dust in the air thoroughly and preventing the coal dust explosion accident under theshaft. The new method has the following beneficial effects: the cleaning method and the water sprinkling and flushing method can be no longer used and the rock dust is unnecessary to be distributed, thus saving the manpower, materials resources and financial resources; and the coal dust in the air under the shaft is eliminated so that the lower explosion limit of gas is forced to be improved, thus indirectly reducing the gas explosion accidents.
