Abstract

The invention belongs to a braking device or a catch pawl device acting between a lift car or a cage or a skip and a fixed guiding element or a winding channel or the inner surface of a shaftway and particularly discloses an elevator falling braking device. The elevator falling braking device comprises a rack-shaped baffle fixed to the side wall of a shaftway and a braking unit arranged in the lower layer of the lift car. The braking unit comprises an electromagnet, a partition plate made from iron, a hinging rod, an elastic piece and a limiting block; the limiting block is fixed to the bottom of the lift car; one end of the elastic piece is connected to the electromagnet, and the other end of the elastic piece is connected to the partition plate; a groove is formed in the partition plate; the hinging rod is hinged to the interior of the groove; and the hinging rod can be clamped on the baffle. Under the normal condition, the electromagnet is in the power-off state. When an elevator falls, the electromagnet is powered on, generates magnetic force, overcomes elasticity of the elastic piece and moves to the partition plate. When the electromagnetic magnet makes contact with the hinging rod, the hinging rod is driven to rotate, and therefore the hinging rod is clamped on the baffle.
