Abstract

Provided is a template creation device, comprising: an acquisition unit which acquires a plurality of templates from a plurality of images of different orientations of an object or from each of a plurality of images of a plurality of objects; a clustering unit which carries out a clustering process, which calculates degrees of similarity of image characteristics for combinations of two templates which are chosen from among the plurality of templates, and divides the plurality of templates into a plurality of groups on the basis of the degrees of similarity; and an integration unit which carries out an integration process upon each of the plurality of groups, which integrates all of the templates in the group into one integrated template or fewer integrated templates than the number of templates in the group, and generates a new template set formed from the plurality of integrated templates corresponding to the respective plurality of groups.
