The invention discloses a method for preparing a halogen-free low-temperature fire-retardant fiber, and relates to a method for preparing a self-assembled low-temperature fire-retardant fiber at a room temperature. The method comprises the following steps: 1, dissolving titanyl sulfate into water containing sulfuric acid; 2, respectively collocating a copper sulfate solution and a calcium nitrate solution; 3, adding the copper sulfate solution into a titanyl sulfate mixed solution for uniformly stirring, and then adding the calcium nitrate solution for uniformly stirring; 4, standing; 5, filtering; 6, washing; 7 drying. The decomposition temperature of the sulfur-free halogen-free fire-retardant fiber is near 150 DEG C, and the enthalpy value is high. When the sulfur-free halogen-free fire-retardant fiber is used on cotton fabrics, the limiting oxygen index is increased by 30 percent, and the amount of release of smoke is reduced by more than 40 percent.
