Abstract

The invention discloses a multifunctional current collector for grouping lithium ion batteries, which has the first function that when one single battery in a battery pack is subjected to internal short circuit caused by lithium dendrites, the internal short circuit cannot form an external short circuit loop of other batteries connected in parallel with the single battery in the battery pack; therefore, corresponding thermal runaway diffusion and battery pack fire are avoided; the second function of the current collecting piece is that when an internal short circuit fault occurs, the fault is reported to a battery management system immediately, so that the battery can be maintained in time. The current collector is composed of a conductive terminal for connecting battery electrodes, a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) conductive material, a bus electrode and an abnormal condition sensor, can be directly used for parallel connection and series connection of a plurality of single batteries, and has the advantages that the cost is low, and the safety performance of the lithium ion battery is remarkably improved.
