A gas turbine engine has a fan drive turbine for driving a gear reduction. The gear reduction drives a fan rotor. A lubrication system supplies oil to the gear reduction, and includes a lubricant pump to supply an air/oil mixture to an inlet of a deaerator. The deaerator includes a separator for separating oil and air, delivering separated air to an air outlet, and delivering separated oil back into an oil tank. The separated oil is first delivered into a pipe outwardly of the oil tank, and then into a location beneath a minimum oil level in the tank. Air within the oil tank moves outwardly through an air exit into the deaerator. A method of designing a gas turbine engine is also disclosed.

The deoxidizing device comprises a main valve for controlling raw water to be conveyed to a boiler, wherein a water softener, a transfer pump I, a deaerator, a deoxidized water tank, an iron and manganese removing filter and a transfer pump II are sequentially arranged on a pipeline between raw material and the boiler; a series-connected pipeline formed by the transfer pump I and the deaerator is connected in parallel with a deoxidizing valve; two ends of the iron and manganese removing filter are connected with an iron removing valve; a pump I valve and a pump II valve are arranged at water inlet ends of the transfer pump I and the transfer pump II respectively; a check valve is arranged at a water outlet of the deaerator; a blow-down valve is arranged on a blow-down pipeline of the deaerator. The deoxidizing device of the heat supply system operates at the normal temperature and is convenient to operate, good in stability and high in applicability, regeneration property of sponge iron in the deaerator is good, regeneration of the sponge iron just requires backwashing, and backwashing drainage is non-toxic, non-corrosive, energy-saving and environment-friendly; the deoxidizing device is good in deoxidizing effect, and content of oxygen in water entering the boiler is 0.05 mg/L or lower.
