Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing super absorbent resin. The method comprises the steps of neutralizing an acrylate polymonomer with a sodium hydroxide (potassium hydroxide) solution till the neutralization degree is 60-80% to obtain a polymonomer solution, sequentially adding a secondary monomer and a cross linker, mixing uniformly, radiating the mixture for 1-4 hours in the sun to obtain absorbent resin gel, and cutting and drying the gel to obtain the super absorbent resin. By adopting the method, any chemical initiator including a photo-initiator is not needed, so that the polymerization reaction is not controlled by the concentration of the initiator, and the method has the advantages of being simple in operation, easy to control, environment-friendly and energy-saving. Moreover, the super absorbent resin is subjected to surface cross-linking treatment and surface compounding treatment respectively to obtain absorbent resin for hygienic materials and a soil water holding agent which have good water absorption performance.
