System and method for synchronizing video indexing between audio/video signal and data

a video signal and audio/video technology, applied in the field of broadcast programs, can solve the problems of inability to provide video indexing based on contents to users, difficult application to a digital broadcasting, and inability to randomly access specific points of a video, etc., to improve the function of a personal tv, search specified positions easily, and improve the effect of the function of the tv

AI Technical Summary

Benefits of technology

The technical effect of this patented technology allows users to quickly find specific content on their own device while still being able to play back or record it later with ease. This makes watching videos easier without having to manually adjust settings like volume levels.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed in this patents relates to improving accessibility during concurrently playing back recorded programming content onto both HDTVs and SDVs without compromising their functionality. Specifically, current systems require that all videos are read separately but there may still exist some scenes where certain parts of these videos could potentially become irrelevant due to limitations associated with displaying them locally at predetermined locations within the screen display.

Embodiment Construction

[0028] Reference will now be made in detail to the present invention, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Particularly, FIG. 2 shows a block diagram of a system for synchronizing video indexing between an A / V signal and data during recording / playback of a broadcast program according to the present invention, including a broadcast data synchronization and transmission system and a receiving system 300. Here, the broadcast data synchronization and transmission system can be divided into a contents production and synchronization (P / S) unit 100 and a data transmission unit 200.

[0029] Referring to FIG. 2, the contents (P / S) unit 100 generally produces, in real time, data to be synchronized with a broadcast program and produces live broadcast program to be broadcasted. Namely, the data to be synchronized with a broadcast program is the XML TAG information. The data transmission unit 200 combines the XML TAG information from the contents P / S unit 100 wit

Abstract

In the present system and method, synchronization information is inserted into specified positions of the content of a multimedia stream at the time when the contents are produced. Thus, the present invention enables a user to easily search the synchronization information on the specified positions through an annotation. As a result, a user can selectively control the playback of a video cartridge recorder through the annotation of a recorded MPEG stream.
