The session mobility methods and systems make use of a session manager, which can be part of a bridge coupled between the communication devices involved in a communication session, that allows the session to be moved to another end user communication device. The session manager controls the transfer of communication sessions between the end user communication devices. The session manager also is configured to control and manage the addition of end user communication devices to existing sessions between communication devices. As part of this session mobility between communication devices, the session manager can create a virtual device within the bridge to represent an actual communication device that is communicating with a different communication device in a different domain within the communication session.
