Abstract

The invention discloses a modified peanut hull porous material and application thereof to cigarettes. The porous material is obtained by performing procedures of microwave expansion, crushing granulation, modification with a modifier, microwave expansion drying and the like on peanut hulls. The modified peanut hull porous material is added to a cigarette filter to prepare a binary composite filter which is applied to the cigarettes, wherein the addition of the modified peanut hull porous material is 12 to 55 percent based on the total weight of the filter. Actual application shows that components such as tar, nicotine, hydrogen cyanide, phenol and crotonaldehyde in cigarette smoke can be effectively reduced. The modified peanut hull porous material is convenient to operate and low in cost, and has broad application prospect.
