4 results about "Fluid catalytic cracking" patented technology

Fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) is one of the most important conversion processes used in petroleum refineries. It is widely used to convert the high-boiling, high-molecular weight hydrocarbon fractions of petroleum crude oils into more valuable gasoline, olefinic gases, and other products. Cracking of petroleum hydrocarbons was originally done by thermal cracking, which has been almost completely replaced by catalytic cracking because it produces more gasoline with a higher octane rating. It also produces byproduct gases that have more carbon-carbon double bonds (i.e. more olefins), and hence more economic value, than those produced by thermal cracking.

The invention provides a quick flocculator in a fluid catalytic cracking slurry sedimentation tank and a manufacturing method. The quick flocculator comprises a work cavity and a flow guiding pipe, wherein the work cavity is of a hollow conical body, the conical body comprises a lateral panel and a bottom panel, a plurality of notches which are cut at the edge of the bottom panel are served as flocculator discharging openings, a round hole which is cut with the circle center of the bottom panel as the center is utilized as a flow guiding pipe inserting opening, the flow guiding pipe is a hollow pipeline, a plurality of grooves are cut at the tail end of the pipeline along a pipe wall, the tail end of the flow guiding pipe penetrates through the flow guiding pipe inserting opening to be welded to an inner wall of the lateral panel, and the grooves are arranged at the top of the inner side of the conical body and are utilized as flocculator feeding openings. The invention further provides the manufacturing method. The quick flocculator disclosed by the invention provides a good gathering and flocculating environment for catalyst particles and is favorable for improving a settling separation effect and the settling separation efficiency (speed) between the catalyst particles and slurry oil.
