The invention discloses polymer functional graphene and a preparation method and application thereof. Graphene is connected with a polymer through the combination of at least one of imide, amide, ester groups and amidogen, wherein the polymer is a polymer at least containing one benzene ring and with the molecular weight of 200-500,000 and interacts with the graphene through covalent bonds, hydrogen bonds and/or pi-pi conjugation. The polymer functional graphene is excellent in dispersion property in non-polar solvents and excellent in dispersion stability, and cannot precipitate after long-time storage for multiple months; according to the adopted preparation method, the polymer with amidogen, hydroxyl and carboxyl reacts with epoxy, hydroxyl and the like on the graphene and then is subjected to covalent grafting on the surface of the graphene, and the grafting rate of the polymer reaches 30% or above. In addition, the obtained polymer functional graphene can be widely applied to lubricating oil, plastic, rubber, paints, adhesives, fibers and other fields, and has potential application value.
