Methods, Systems, and Computer Program Products For Hierarchical Registration Between a Blood Vessel and Tissue Surface Model For a Subject and a Blood Vessel and Tissue Surface Image For the Subject

ActiveUS20080247622A1Ultrasonic/sonic/infrasonic diagnosticsSurgeryRadiologyRigid transformation
Methods, systems, and computer program products for hierarchical registration (102) between a blood vessel and tissue surface model (100) for a subject and a blood vessel and tissue surface image for the subject are disclosed. According to one method, hierarchical registration of a vascular model to a vascular image is provided. According to the method, a cascular model is mapped to a target image using a global rigid transformation to produce a global-rigid-transformed model. Piecewise rigid transformations are applied in a hierarchical manner to each vessel tree in the global-rigid-transformed model to perform a piecewise-rigid-transformed model. Piecewise deformable transformations are applied to branches in the vascular tree in the piecewise-transformed-model to produce a piecewise-deformable-transformed model.

Thrombus excision system

PendingCN104622538AEasy to pushImprove torque performanceSurgeryThrombusSaccule
The invention discloses a thrombus excision system. An embolus is extracted through a mechanical embolus extraction device, a blood vessel is dredged, and revascularization of the blood vessel is achieved. A saccule guide catheter is put at the near end of the embolus part when the embolus is extracted, blood flow is temporarily blocked, and thus a fine crushed embolus generated in the embolus extraction process is prevented from being flushed to the far end of the blood vessel; meanwhile, for a relatively large embolus, a part of thrombus can also be sucked by virtue of the saccule guide catheter, and then the residual thrombus can be extracted by virtue of a thrombus exsector. The thrombus exsector, the saccule guide catheter and a delivery microcatheter are arranged on the thrombus excision system disclosed by the invention, wherein the thrombus exsector is used as a main component, an excision spring is arranged, and the release state of the excision spring is a conical spiral state. Compared with the prior art, the thrombus excision system has the advantages that the thrombus exsector is very soft, the minimal through size is 0.014' (0.36mm), the thrombus exsector can easily enter a cerebral vessel, a near-end protection technology is adopted in the operation process, and thrombus suction is combined with mechanical embolus extraction, so that the success rate of the operation is improved, and the complications are reduced.

Electronic endoscope system

An electronic endoscope system for observing living tissues inside a body cavity includes an illuminating apparatus having a white light source emitting white light and an excitation light source emitting excitation light, an electronic endoscope including an insertion part to be inserted into the body cavity, an imaging device that receives an optical image and outputs image signals corresponding to the optical image, an image forming system that forms the optical image, an operating pant provided at a rear anchor of the insertion part, and a plurality of operable members arranged at the operating part, a display device, an image processing system that receives the image signals outputted from the imaging device, the image processing system obtaining a normal image when the living tissues are illuminated with the white light and a fluorescence image when the living tissues are irradiated with the excitation light, and a control system that controls the whole of the electronic endoscope system. The control system assigns a function to one of the plurality of operable members for switching between a normal mode for observing the normal image and a fluorescence mode for observing the fluorescence image. The control system assigns different functions between the normal mode and fluorescence mode to at least one of the others of the plurality of operable members.

Bala Laparoscope System

ActiveUS20200305703A1Eliminate requirementsNew capabilitySurgeryLaproscopesReoperative surgerySurgical department
The Bala Laparoscope System is a reusable and / or disposable embodiment of a modular, surgical laparoscope with removable interchangeable viewing angles that enable one laparoscope to be used in place of two separate conventional laparoscopes with different viewing angles. The invention provides for distal lens cleaning without removing the laparoscope from the body. In addition, the invention provides for integrated image-guided working channels for surgical tools; cauterization and laser ablation and internal drug delivery. The simplicity of its optical design allows a much longer useful instrument life than conventional laparoscopes and essentially eliminates the need to rebuild them.

Video display system for locating a projected image adjacent a surgical field

InactiveUS6307674B1Reduce fatigueFacilitate communicationDiagnosticsSurgeryUniversal jointSTERILE FIELD
A method and apparatus for projecting an image of a patient to intersect a display screen which is nonperpendicular to an adjacent portion of an optical path and adjacent a sterile operative field. A video projector system and accompanying optics impart at least one of a tilted focal plane or depth of focus to the projected image. The optical path of the projected image is located adjacent the surgical field. An initially sterile display screen is located in the optical path adjacent the sterile field so that a normal to the screen is noncoincident with the optical path and the projected image on the screen is of constant focus across the screen. The initially sterile display screen may be degradable upon cleaning and resterilization so that a new screen must be used with each procedure, thus insuring the optical quality and sterility of the screen. The display screen may be supported adjacent the surgical field by an articulated rod assembly. The rod assembly may have an upper rod shaped like a "dog leg" for providing easy access by the surgical team for rotating and moving the system up and down. A lower rod of the rod assembly may be connected to the upper rod with a universal joint for adjusting screen location and quickly moving the display screen out of the surgical field.
