The invention discloses a method and a
system for predicting a best adjacent region of a mobile terminal. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring the current
moving speed of a mobile terminal and judging whether the current
moving speed is greater than a preset first speed threshold; if the current
moving speed is greater than the preset first speed threshold, acquiring base stations of which the distances from the mobile terminal are smaller than a preset spacing threshold, and acquiring the included angle between the connecting line of the mobile terminal and each
base station and the line of moving direction of the mobile terminal and the
signal strength of each
base station; acquiring the
base station meeting the condition that the
signal strength is greater than a first
signal strength threshold and the condition that the included angle between the connecting line of the mobile terminal and the base
station and the line of moving direction of the mobile terminal is minimum among multiple included angles, and reporting a connection request of the mobile terminal to the base
station. By using the method and the
system, next best adjacent region can be predicted during high-speed movement and reported to a corresponding base
station, the base station can provide service for a longer time after switching, and thus, ping-pong switching and disorderly invalid switching are reduced.
